"If you live in the area and run, donít miss the opportunity to experience the huckleberry trail. The trail provides some thing for every runner Ė a quality paved trail with easy access points, mileage markers, and scenic beauty to remote dirt spur trails. With nearly 6 miles of paved trail and 1.25 miles of dirt trail Ė I have access to run nearly 13 miles of trail from Blacksburg to Christiansburg and back. Itís a great way to get rural running solitude in a urban area."

"The river, the surrounding area are just all so wonderful. We ventured out to explore the countryside and were rewarded with the glorious Draper Mountain Overlook and even found a beautiful park in Pulaski, Gatewood Park. We wish we never had to leave."

"At New River Retreat, being in the tourism industry gives us the opportunities to this area through the eyes of others. Speaking with visitors from others states and even other countries allows us to have unique perspective on the place where we live. So many people who visit Pulaski County are in awe of the river and lake. They travel hundreds of miles to take in astonishing vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains. People from the Cities can't believe how bright the stars are here at night, they experience for the first time the serenity of absolute silence."

~Debbie Gardner, Pulaski County, VA
