The Crooked Road, Virginia’s Heritage Music Trail, includes venues and wayside exhibits located in the New River Valley. NRCC Fiddle, Banjo and Dance Club
New River Community College is located in a region rich in traditional music that has been passed down through generations. Talented musicians, crafters of musical instruments and those with deep appreciation of music gather monthly at the college for its Fiddle, Banjo and Dance Club jamborees. These gatherings plus special concerts feature both local and nationally known artists who bring forth the great old-time and bluegrass music of their ancestors.

Due South BBQ Bluegrass Jam
Due South offers a variety of bluegrass and acoustic specialties continually throughout the week. Every Tuesday night Kevin James performs a specialty blend of acoustic country. Friday nights offer even more excitement at Due South, with an alternating music schedule that changes throughout the month. On the first Friday of the month, the Rum Runners perform what they can only call “nostalgic rockabilly.” On the second Friday of every month, The Little’s perform their specialty mixture of gypsy rock. On the third Friday of every month, the Alleghany Strings perform gospel bluegrass for enthusiast to enjoy. Finally, on the last Friday of every month, Bob Shoe and Ryan Little perform a mixture of everything bluegrass and prove to be an exciting show. The shows start at 6:30 p.m. and lasts until closing.

The Coffee Depot
The Coffee Depot offers a Variety Art Share every other Thursday from 7:00 pm until approximately 11:00 pm. The “open-mic night” event includes live music from local artists, as well as any other art people might be willing to show, including poetry and visual art.
